Students met and worked in the style of contemporary artist Randy Williams. Here is a scholar rock watercolor created in the style of the artist.
I just began reading "Battlefield of the Mind" written by Joyce Meyer. It talks about how the mind is a battlefield of negative and positive thoughts and the importance of being conscience of what you are thinking about. Your thinking shapes your life. Do you ever think about what you think about? As an artist, I would say yes to some extend because the artist is constantly thinking, investigating, and searching for understanding. My artwork depicts the journey of doing so. However, I do not believe I do enough analysis of whether the thought is negative or positive and if my thoughts are shaping my life in a negative or positive manner. It opens one of it's beginning chapters with this quote from the Bible:
For as he thinks in his heart,
so is he.
As I read, I am learning that it is easy to underestimate the power of the mind. Creativity unleashes the search for understanding, but do we put our mind in check when our thinking is damaging to our lives? I am looking forward to learning more as I continue to read.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
