Art Teachers:
A good resource as you plan your year: http://www.incredibleart.org/lessons/elem/elemlessons.html This week in art class, my third grader is learning about Henri Matisse. The teacher sent home a sheet on her lesson. It included the definition of Fauvism, facts on the artist, and steps to the lesson. Lesson steps include the following vocabulary words: square, circle, triangle, organic shape, and line. The project is based on Henri Matisse's cut outs. Henri Matisse's cut outs are a great lesson for kids of all ages because it teaches a variety of skills. What impressed me most what the sheet sent home because it was clear, easy to understand, and a great resource for the parent and child. It is nice to know what she is learning about and I am able to supplement information and activities for the lesson at home.
