This acrylic on canvas was done by a middle school student for her high school portfolio. It was based on Degas's paintings and requested by the Principal of the school. However, this student combined her own style, culture, and expression of color to create her own unique work. It is always important to base art projects on art historical content, but is equally important to allow students to express themselves within what they are learning.
